Coming from the same background as her, I can’t imagine how my parents would react to something like this, and I can already concoct the types of conversations that I would have with them. I think what I’m most looking forward to is seeing how Kamala does or does not involve her family throughout the journey. Honestly, I think this show is going to be great. The series will be her journey in figuring this superhero thing out while grappling with the responsibilities of her regular life. Marvel will spend a lot of its time following Kamala as she tries to balance her regular life with that of an emerging superhero.
Soon enough, these fantasies start to weave their way into reality when she starts to mysteriously gain abilities. She looks up to Captain Marvel in every which way and daydreams often about fighting alongside her and the Avengers. Kamala Khan is a young Pakistani-American teenage girl from Jersey City who loves to game, write fan fiction, and is absolutely obsessed with Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel. Marvel a “historic moment” and is excited to see it come to fruition after working on it for two long and hard years. It makes me happy that co-creator Sana Amanat has nothing but pure and sheer enthusiasm for the upcoming series, which she shared during an interview with Empire. She called Ms. Marvel to have gotten the same treatment. Every minute detail has been tended to so I hope and expect Ms. My hype level has gone up exponentially after watching Marvel’s current Disney+ series, Moon Knight, which has illustrated and conveyed Egyptian culture so authentically. This has been a long time coming, and I cannot wait to see this story come to life. This will be the first time that I will see an MCU character that looks, talks, and comes from the same cultural and religious background as me.
