After barely escaping the tomb, they head back to London where Alex gets too curious and puts the bracelet on, showing him a map to the Oasis of Ahm Shere.
Rick and Evy are married and have a son named Alex who accompanies them on their expedition in Egypt where they find the bracelet of Anubis. It is 1933, ten years after the events at Hamunaptra. Anubis answers, giving the Scorpion King control of his armies in exchange for eternal control of the Scorpion King’s soul. He prays to Anubis to spare his life and defeat his enemies. In the year 3067 B.C., the Scorpion King and his army were driven out of Thebes by Egyptian forces and forced to wander the desert in retreat where they all perished except him. They also introduced two new main characters, Alex O’Connell (Freddie Boath) and The Scorpion King (Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson). In 2001, Universal released a sequel, The Mummy Returns bringing back Rick O’Connell (Brendan Fraser), Evelyn “Evy” O’Connell (Rachel Weisz), Jonathan Carnahan (John Hannah), Imhotep (Arnold Vasloo), Ardeth Bay (Oded Fehr) and Anck-su-Namun (Patricia Velasquez). Not only did we officially launch but we are also celebrating “March of Mummies,” during which we have covered everything about The Mummy including a discussion of the 1932 film, a review of the 1999 film and its subsequent soundtrack, theme park ride and toys.
